Learn to think lizard
Learn to think watercress,
Subtle and crisp.
Learn to see clean, unblinking
Into cool shadows that hide from dust
Of afternoon light.

Learn to think lizard
Slink past the obvious
To the underneath leaf
And there in canny damp twilight
Of cucumber truth
Breathe with your skin
The peace of the rain, the pond, the fern.
